10 Reasons To Be Thankful for Travel

During hectic holiday season, it’s easy to get frustrated by long security lines and cramped airplanes. But this Thanksgiving, when it comes to travel, I am ever so thankful. What about you?

      Great list Matt!
Wow, I really want to see those sunsets and eat those oranges now! I almost mentioned night markets in mine, but I couldn’t find a photo!

Yes, the ability to enjoy travel is a big important factor. I often think about how when I get older, I might not be as mobile or able to get around. We shouldn’t take it for granted!

  2. Nice how you lined up all these great pictures with your travel memories. I guess the list can go on and on…

    My thanks go out to:

    – The beautiful people all around the world, with all their local diferences
    – The ancient sites like Machu Picchu, always waiting for us to arrive
    – Amazing animals like the elephant, showing themselves in their natural habitat
    – Friends sharing their travel experiences
    – The stories people are telling
    – And I guess I can go on and on….

    Thank you Mary.

Oh my gosh, I would say every aspect of travel is something I’m thankful for. But there are obviously a few more than others:
-> The feeling of feeling free. It’s nice to have some place to wander and not to be cooped up in a house!
-> The people you meet. Sometimes you can make life-long friends on a short vacation.
-> The food. From British breakfasts to Indian breads, I think I’ve had great experiences of food in all the places I’ve visited.

  4. Great list, Mary! You have some great pictures here. I always enjoy the beauty and open spaces in traveling.

..Under “F” you could also have had “H” because those girls have some big hair! haha

      Dear Ryan,
You’re the first person to comment on the “friends” They are funny, aren’t they? I posted a picture of them because I love how other cultures express themselves, outrageous hair and all! Did you see their nails?

  5. Too many reasons to list, but I am thankful just for the sheer joy I experience when visiting a new place and for the “luckiest girl in the world” feeling during and after.

      Dear Claire,
I’m so glad you said that. I always get that lucky feeling too. Lucky that I live in this time and can travel freely and easily, and lucky that I have the means to do it! Thanks for your comment!

      Dear Corinne,
You’ve mentioned an interesting aspect of travel which I totally agree with- the ability to be one’s true self. I never thought about it before, but I do feel completely free and honest when I’m on the road…

  6. These are perfect, perfect reasons! Something about the nighttime sparkle and meeting the locals especially resonates 🙂 But they are all lovely reasons to travel and to be thankful for travel!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
