Three course set meal at the famous Aux Anciens Canadiens. This restaurant serves the most wonderful hearty traditional Quebec food.
Our dishes included Canadian pean soup, deer sausage and cornish hen stuffed with mushrooms and truffle sauce. We also had a meat pie and stew with chutney.
The desserts were Canadian sugar pie and upside down maple pudding cake.
As soon as we got back home to Northern Virginia, I scoured the internet for recipes for the upside down pudding cake (last cake pictured).
My version was not as good as the original, but it was still pretty tasty.
